Celebrant-led ceremonies for all of life's great occasions
Baby Naming Ceremonies
The arrival of a new member of your family is always a great occasion and a really wonderful time to celebrate with family and friends. A celebrant-led ceremony allows you to create a joy-filled, family-focused welcome for your new addition. Ceremonies can include the evocative rose-petal ceremony, whereby each guest places a single rose petal, infused with good wishes for the baby in a bowl of water. The water is sprinkled over the baby, thereby bathing them with good wishes for their future. I would be thrilled to help you design a fitting welcome to the world for your precious little baby.
As a funeral celebrant, I honour death and celebrate life.
While the death of a loved one is always a difficult time, it is very important to create a space in which we can properly, reverently and respectfully say our goodbyes. I will take the time to learn about your loved one, carefully craft a unique ceremony that will include a bespoke eulogy, appropriate music, quotes, poetry or readings that will evoke the life, spirit and individual personality of the departed. The funeral ceremony can take place in the crematorium, the funeral home or at the graveside. After the funeral, I will present you with a beautiful copy of the ceremony as a keepsake.
Ashes & Memorials
Following the death and cremation of your loved one, it may take up to two weeks before you receive their ashes. Once received, you can then hold a ceremony for interring or scattering of the ashes. For this ceremony, you can include elements which perhaps were not included in the original funeral service or indeed invite guests who due to current restrictions were unable to attend the funeral as planned. Ashes ceremonies are an opportunity to honour the life, spirit and values of the departed and can allow you as a family to say a fitting final goodbye.
Similarly, memorial services on a first anniversary or special birthday, allow you to honour your loved one in a unique and special way, knowing that you are still surrounded with and guided by their loving spirit.
Other Occasions and Celebrations
Life events in all their many shades of happiness, sadness and joy deserve to be celebrated. Throughout our lives, there are lots of other reasons and occasions to come together as a family or community to celebrate. Events such as engagements, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, new homes......and even divorces.
If you have a special life event that deserves a full celebration, feel free to contact me to discuss your ideas and together we can craft a bespoke, unique ceremony to mark that special day and allow you to create memories for you and your family that will last a lifetime.
